This year Kyle decided he wanted to make his own cake.  He did a great job baking his cake but getting them out of the pan was another story...thank heavens for Wal-mart!  I guess we will be making Trifle for family night tomorrow.

And yes...it was supposed to be a three-layer cake.

The Return of Meghan!

We were thrilled to have Meghan return home to Utah.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder...right!? Kyle and Jacob jumped at the chance to make welcome home signs for her.

 

Pioneer Day

We celebrated Pioneer Day with a good ol' fashioned baseball game with the Orem Owlz! It brought back many fond memories of ballgames with the Atlanta Braves.

Despite the 5 minute downpour, the evening was beautiful.

Not to mention, the rain left us with a beautiful rainbow!

Our night ended with an amazing fireworks display.

Kaylie is thrilled beyond words!

Paynter Summer Memories!

The school year ended with two graduations:  Kaylie graduated from Westside Elementary School and will attend Springville Junior High in August. Meghan graduated from Springville High School and will attend Snow College this year. 

 We made a long-awaited trip to DISNEYLAND!

Jacob says good-bye in hopes that we will return much sooner next time!

The night Meghan left for Washington, Kaylie moved into Meghan's room!

June brings Art City Days and the hot-air balloon festival at 6 a.m.

The Pass-of-All-Passes makes the summer heat bearable at Seven-Peaks and Trafalga!

Jacob enjoys Cub Scout Day Camp at Jeremiah Johnson.

The end of June brought our yearly trip to Washington.  On the way, we stopped in Nampa, Idaho to go to church.  Unfortunately, the only ward we found was a Spanish Branch.  In quest of the chapel, we found this street!

Meghan begins her first full-time job at Grandpa's Old Fashioned Ice Cream with her cousins Michaela and Lindsey.

Long Lake: 65 degrees in Washington brings everyone to the lake.  While Alicia and I froze on the hill, the kids played in the water.

We celebrated Meghan's 18th Birthday in Washington with Grandma and Grandpa Brown, the Woolfs, the Neeleys, Kent and Joan, and Mark and Jen Woolf /kids!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

The highlight of our trip was a gorgeous day at Ocean Shores.  We left none too happily!

We spent a day at Burfoot Park roasting hotdogs, cooking smores, and exploring the bay!

I love the tradition of Sunday Family Dinner.  They will be the source of many happy memories.

Jordan, Kyle, and Kaylie ended our trip with a day at the Seattle Temple doing baptisms for the dead with their cousins. I love that they continue to enjoy temple service.

Though this was completed after our return to Utah, Kyle and Jordan spent a great deal of time with Uncle Matt designing, cutting out, sanding, and assembling their own long board.  Thanks Matt for your patience and skill-sharing! The boys continue to board as much as they can.

...but as we all know too well, all good things must come to an end! School is quickly approaching, we continue to make the most of the time we have left.
